Workshop D: Transforming Education: Teaching Creative Problem Solving to Ignite Entrepreneurial Thinking in College Students

Additional $75 Fee

Facilitators:

  • Amy Whitney, Clark University
  • Ainat Koren, UMass Lowell
  • Ha Pho, UMass Lowell

Creative thinking and problem solving are essential foundations of an entrepreneurial mindset and innovative action. These skills are essential for all college students, not just entrepreneurship students. This workshop begins with a brief overview of creative problem solving frameworks and their integration into the UMass Lowell nursing program in partnership with the Difference Maker program and the Clark University Entrepreneurship program. Participants will then engage in a hands-on, interactive experience that includes a guided creative problem solving activity to identify at least one useful solution to different challenges in entrepreneurship education. The workshop will close with a group discussion on how creative problem solving can be used to ignite creative problem solving in any course or throughout a curriculum.
